Experimenting with sound: the polygonal trigonometric functions rendered as audio
Instead of simply posting a couple of samples here, I decided to write this interactive Flash applet that generates the audio on the spot for any wave and note you want.
Note: the functions for the square and triangle are not the square and triangle waves you are used to in synthesizers and chiptunes. Those get their names from the wave’s shape, not an originating polygon! They are unrelated to these polygonal functions.
Have fun!EDIT: by request, I also added that heart’s functions as well.
